Business & Identity Conversations

I’m working on a long-form project about founders and their businesses.

As part of that, I’m having confidential, one-on-one conversations with entrepreneurs about how they think about their company now.

I’m not a journalist and these aren’t interviews in the normal sense. There’s no audience in mind and nothing to perform for or promote. Anything used will be anonymized with a pseudonym and fictionalized identifying details.

What I would like to know about are the real moments, decisions, and how you understood them.

Typical ground we cover:

  • Choices that made sense in earlier times in the business but feel different now

  • Things you took on because they seemed like the natural next step

  • Parts of the business that still work but no longer hold your attention

  • How you explain your own decisions when no one is asking for a takeaway

Just to be very clear, there’s no attempt to diagnose or change anything.

I just want to hear your story.

I’m interested in how founders describe their businesses once the novelty wears off.

Some conversations last an hour. Others might turn into a few conversations if it’s mutually beneficial.

If you’re comfortable speaking candidly about how you relate to your business, I’d like to schedule something with you.
